  First Ex-JW Experience with XMas Spirit

  so obviously as a recently parting jw, i've never had the hastle, the annoyance or the joy of experiencing christmas.

  this year in our office was the first time that we did a secret santa, so i would joke with a few of the people looking for advice because i had never really celebrated christmas.

  it was kind of a fun running joke for the past month or two, as they laughed and pitied over my past with me, which they pried about and i explained.

  What a wonderful story! I guess those sex-crazed, demon controlled, evil worldly people aren't so bad after all, huh.

  My heartfelt congratulations on escaping the JWs. May you enjoy many more Christmases with your true friends and love ones.

  Got the contract

  now i just have to sign on the dotted line and drop it off and i shall once again be in the permanent job field.

  i won't be earning a huge amount by any means but it is enough to cover my bills and to save a little bit.

  this does give me that relief of finances coming in, of course i'll be keeping my ears and eyes open for better opportunities, but that being said i shall embrace this new opportunity with open arms and eagerness.. it's been a hellofa tough year people - hellofa tough.

  all documents of important nature such as, our kingdom ministry, boe letters, forms, or other materials will now be sent only by email or private message communications.

  they will not be posted out here on the board.

  if someone else wants to post them, be my guest.. .. we have no other choice in this matter, and sending out confidential documents is better when it is done privately.

  You are providing a great service to the community by letting the BOEs and other confidential material see the light of day. I really appreciate what you have done and continue doing.

  Please add me to your email recipient list. I would particularly like to get copies of all BOEs and any other confidential material. I am sending you my personal email address in a private message.

  These materials are invaluable tools in my continuing dialog with friends and family members still trapped in the cult. It is quite useful and satisfying to be able to show them that their consciences are indeed dictated to them by whatever the Society puts out. Sadly, many now refuse to state what they believe about any particular doctrine for fear that "new light" has come out and yesterday's belief is now apostasy. Yet they cannot comprehend that todays's new teaching may well be outdated tomorrow. Still, they will staunchly deny that the Faithless Indiscreet Slave is indeed the master of their faith and dictator of their consciences.

  Thanks again for all your hard work. I realize what an effort it is to provide this service to your true brothers and sisters.

  I Got A Brand New Adjustable Bed, Mattress & Boxspring And I Am Sick To My Stomach!

  We bought a Bob-O-pedic, which is a knock-off of the Tempurpedic. It had really strong fumes that smelled like formaldehyde. Since it was under a warranty, we insisted that the store replace it. They did, and the new one had no odor at all. Both arrived new in the plastic. Go figure...

  My mother passed away this morning...

  for any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.

  she had been in the hospital for a month.

  it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).

  So sorry for your loss, Tatiana. I concur with other posters about not letting your uncle get away with this fraud. Unless he can produce a will that will stand up in court, it would seem that a child (like maybe, you) would be considered the legal next-of-kin and would have precedence over a brother in deciding what to do with the deceased's things. You definitely need to consult a lawyer. Given what you said has already happened, it is a good bet that this uncle of yours will either abscond with any money and insurance payouts himself or give it all to the Society. If he can't or won't produce a valid will, please don't let him get away with it.

  How would you feel about this and would you steps to change the situation

  next week i am having surgery at the local hospital .

  one of my old jw 'friends ', that no longer considers me worthy of even a hello ,is a surgical tech there .. would you take steps to ask she not be on the operating team ?

  it was brought to my attention today that i do have the right to ask for that person not to be present because of personal issues .. what would you do ?

  If it were me, I would ask that this person NOT be assigned to my case. If your care required something not approved by HER conscience, how do you know she would provide you the best medical care without regard to her personal feelings. Even if she did do the correct thing medically, she would probably feel obligated to report (or try to coerce you to report) to the elders anything not approved by the Society, medical ethics be damned...
